The video essay uses reappropriated collages from Carl Sagan’s episode Persistence of Memory, with images shot in Rio de Janeiro, juxtaposed against the narration. The relationship-becoming is the driving force of an analysis of the impermanence of emotions, the attempts to map the future, acceptance of the processes of transformation. Circumstances of melancholy become a video poem. Where do we travel when we visit memory? We expand like the universe. [subtitles available in vimeo]
