BIO

Nishmi (Brazil, 1994) is a time-based media artist living in Berlin. Exploring themes of memory, gender, and destruction, the works prompt reflection on societal patterns and the transient nature of time. Inspired by the relationship between personal history and universal narratives, Nishmi often works with video and sound installations playing with astronomic and microscopic scales of size and time. Previous exhibitions includes Haus Wien (Vienna, Austria), Ecrã Festival (Modern Art Museum-RJ, Brazil), and Pembe Hayat KuirFest (Pera Museum, Turkey).
